About

I'm an HR professional with experience managing 300+ employees across multiple states — including building an HR function from scratch for a growing company. I know what it looks like when HR infrastructure doesn't exist yet, and what it takes to build it right.

Why I started this

I know firsthand that when a business is growing quickly, the last thing anyone has time or energy for is compliance. Companies in this situation might not be big enough to justify a full-time HR hire, but they're absolutely big enough for a compliance mistake to be costly. I provide you with the right infrastructure, built once.

What I actually know

  • Multi-state compliance audits
  • Employee handbook creation and updates
  • I-9 compliance and audit preparation
  • FLSA exempt/non-exempt classification
  • Multi-state leave law compliance (FMLA and state-specific)
  • Employee relations and documentation
  • Onboarding and offboarding systems
  • State-specific posting and notice requirements

What I'll refer out

I'm a practitioner, not a law firm or accounting firm. For litigation and complex legal disputes, I refer to employment attorneys. For benefits plan design, I refer to benefits brokers. For payroll tax questions, I refer to CPAs. You'll always know where the boundaries are.

My philosophy

Employees should be running companies — not HR. Unnecessary red tape can frustrate even the best efforts at progress, so you won't see me stepping in trying to overhaul company culture or make your life more difficult. My job is to help build the system you want so you can use it to keep your team compliant. I push for simplicity so you can easily implement these suggestions with your team and focus more of your attention on the parts of your business you actually love.
